Children can also be part of my world as long as they understand that sudden movements and enthusiastic bouncing can make me nervous. Calm and gentle wins me over much faster. 

I’m completely house trained, and my kennel is actually one of my safe places. I’m happy to sleep there and appreciate having somewhere quiet to retreat when life feels a little too loud. Leashes, however, remain deeply suspicious objects. Apparently humans attach them to dogs and then expect everyone to walk in an organized fashion. I have not yet received the full operating manual.

So yes, I contain multitudes: athlete, scholar, cuddle bug, toy enthusiast and part-time land piranha. The teeth are temporary. The cleverness appears permanent. And beneath all that puppy commotion is a very sweet little girl who already seems quite certain that being someone’s best friend is a position she was born to fill.

I also have impeccable taste. Dog food is fine, obviously, but have you seen what humans are eating? I will sit quietly beside you and gaze at your plate with such profound optimism that you may begin questioning whether you actually ordered dinner for yourself. I’m not pushy about it. I simply believe opportunities should be explored. Walks started out with considerable enthusiasm as well, but after the first few minutes I settled right down and demonstrated that I am perfectly capable of civilized strolling once the initial excitement has been properly expressed.

My greatest discovery so far, however, is the bed. Magnificent invention. Soft, elevated, apparently intended for dogs, despite some confusing propaganda from humans. I climbed onto one almost immediately and can now frequently be found there whether anyone else is present or not. I’m also starting to bounce around and show my playful side as I get comfortable. The kennel, on the other hand, has received my formal rejection and will not be getting a favourable review. I spent enough time feeling unsure about the world; now that I’m discovering comfort, companionship and mattresses, I intend to investigate all three thoroughly.

Hello, I’m Lucky, and I am the kind of guy who believes in awareness. I notice things. I notice people, trucks, squirrels, rabbits, leaves that weren’t there yesterday, and sounds that may or may not exist. When something is noticed, I announce it. This is not chaos. This is communication. I consider myself an alert system with legs and a very strong opinion about perimeter security.

Once installed, you’ll notice I operate quietly most of the time, humming along in standby mode while life happens around me. I do occasionally issue alerts for non-threatening situations, but I prefer to think of those as proactive safety checks rather than false alarms. I monitor the environment from a comfortable distance, tracking movement, listening for changes in tone, and performing silent system checks from various strategic locations on the floor. When conditions are stable, I remain unobtrusive and reassuring, the kind of presence you stop noticing because it simply works.

When something triggers my sensors I respond promptly and with volume. Outdoor patrols are conducted on a leash, as my wildlife detection software is extremely sensitive and occasionally overachieves. Indoors, I integrate smoothly into household routines, syncing easily with daily schedules and other approved systems. Obviously, you need me, and I can't wait to meet you!
