PLEASE DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER DOGS DIE!

Saving one dog may not change the world but the world has surely changed for that one dog - author unknown

One of the most important things we can give our Pets is "Time". The time to love them, care for them, and train them. Animal Shelters and Humane Societies across the country are filled with Pets whose families didn't have "Time". Every year, the "Time is up" for 12 million companion Pets. Do you have the "Time" to make a difference?

For adoption inquiries phone 573-8333 or email  adoptions@fundsfurfriends.com or fax 1-866-211-1046 toll free

Please note:
We do not have a shelter where the dogs can all be visited all together at one time - the animals are kept in loving foster homes and all our members are volunteers. We try to return email and phone calls in a timely manner but occasionally family and  jobs delay our response. Please be patient with us! :-)

TOTAL DOGS RESCUED SINCE SEPTEMBER 2001 - 749

LARGE CRATES NEEDED URGENTLY!

We have recently been averaging over 50 dogs in rescue at a single time and our foster home base is really expanding. Never a shortage of dogs to fill it with... We are completely out of large dog crates and we are in DESPERATE need of some to accommodate our increasing numbers. If anyone has a crate they wish to donate, please phone 204-573-8333. Drop off donations can also be left at Pet Valu in the Corral Center!

HIGH NEED FOR CAT FREE FOSTER HOMES!

We have recently wound up with a number of rescue dogs in boarding which are not good with cats. Many of these dogs are seeking virtual foster homes and they will spend more time that our dogs usually spend in boarding, simply because we do not have a large number of foster homes which are cat free. We always need foster homes of all kinds, but right now we do have an increased need for cat free foster homes...

The Home Depot Parking Lot

S
upport Funds for Furry Friends and donate to "rescue" one of the upstanding members of the community from the "cage"
By popular demand, we will also be permitting the lock-up of friends for a donation - you must have your friend on-site to participate and they must meet or exceed your donation amount to bypass their cage time! A great silent auction will also take place during this event, and there will be plenty off food there too! There will be baloons and treats available for the kids! - Fun for the whole family!

FEATURED PET!
MILO - DOBERMAN X GOLDEN RETRIEVER (NEUTERED)

Milo is an adult Doberman mix we rescued from the Brandon City Pound. Upon tracing his tattoo, we discovered he is a 4 year old dog, who is in fact listed as a Golden Retriever mix...  It's hard to believe, but yes - it's true!  Milo was owner surrendered and was very scared the first day he arrived at the pound.  After some time in his foster home, his true colors have really shone though.  Milo is a sweet, happy boy. His greatest love is children. He is crate broken, housetrained, and can do some tricks. He is very excited to see anyone at all, but is protective of his family around strangers. We have found this can be problematic if he is allowed loose on a farm or acerage, as Milo will protect the property and his people from people he does not know. He loves his foster mom's dog and would do well in a home with other dogs. Milo does not like cats! He doesn't chase the cows, but he has not been around horses. He is happiest with his people. He will run for miles, or sleep at your feet. This fellow loves to play and he really enjoys playing fetch - but hasn't gotten all the rules down just yet. Milo spent some time with a trainer and his obedience was coming along very well - he really enjoys the fun of learning and working with people. Milo can jump very high, so if in the city, he would need a really high fence or a means of being supervised outdoors. Milo doesn't bark to hear his own voice and is very quiet in the house. He would do well in a home with children of any age. (Indoor Home Only!)

Please note: While our dogs are normally only fostered in Southwestern Manitoba, Milo has been an exception. Due to unforseen circumstances, he spent a fair amount of time in boarding and he was able to find a foster home in Winnipeg. Please ask if you have questions about his adoption!

"I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
I have done something," He replied. "I created you."
~Jim Willis
