Description Last Updated: January 30th, 2010
Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

Daschund X Lab - Spayed Female - 8 months old (Born May 2009)
Height: 12-13" | Weight: 30lbs (approx.)

Wren is the daughter of Robin, and appears to be mixed with a larger breed, like a yellow lab. She is a short and sturdy little dog, who is long and low to the ground. Wren was born under a porch and started her life in a situation that involved little socialization. While Wren is a friendly girl, she is uncertain in most new situations and came to us with little "pet" experience. She has come a very long way in rescue. While she started out very hesitant to walk on leash, she has improved dramatically and is doing quite well now. Wren is fostered on an acerage at present, and she does very well off leash too. Wren is in a foster home with other animals and she is great with the other animals. She gets along well with other dogs, and she is generally good with the cats - but will occassionally give chase to a running feline. Wren quickly looses interest when the running stops. Wren is excellent with the livestock too! Before she arrived in rescue, Wren had never really been anyone's pet - she roamed freely and really did not have anyone to love and care for her. She can be shy, but has really come out of her shell. We are seeing improvements everyday - she is completely housebroken and crate trained now. She does best crated as she will chew if left alone loose in the house, and she is much better in a wire crate than a plastic one. Wren likes to play with the other dogs and can be playful with people too, but she is not really into toys. She prefers people and other pets - inanimate objects don't hold the same appeal! Wren is a talker and likes to tell her foster mom what she thinks of things. She is very friendly and cuddly with her humans, and once she has bonded she can be a bit of a velcro dog. Wren likes to be close and lay on your toes! Wren really had come leaps and bounds in rescue, but she still does default to the shy Wren that first arrived in new situations. Wren is great with older kids and would be good for a home with school aged children. She is a loving girl who has only just learned what being a pet is all about. Now that she'd had some practice, she's ready for the real thing and is ready for her own forever family! (Indoor Home Only!)
