Funds for Furry Friends is a nationally
registered charity that rescues and rehabilitates dogs in
need and works to find them loving forever homes. Our rescue
does not have a facility, we are foster home based –
and most of the dogs in our rescue are in loving foster homes…
Our rescue is always looking for foster
homes – people to care for and work with the dogs coming
in, providing them a home environment where they are worked
with, cared for and properly evaluated in a home environment
before they are adopted out.
We often hear people saying I would
love to foster but I don’t think I could do it. There
are a variety of reasons, which range from too many dogs to
a personal inability to let the dogs go when they are adopted.
Whatever the reason, there is a limitation preventing people
who WANT to be foster homes, from fostering…
Most of our dogs are in foster homes,
but there are exceptions. Whether it be a dog facing euthanasia
at our local city pound, or an emergency owner surrender situation
– our rescue sometimes if forced to board during the
interim. In addition, our rescue guarantees that each and
every dog coming through our rescue can come back –
it’s actually a requirement of our adoption that our
animals are returned to us. Sometimes this results in a need
to board dogs as well. Boarding is just a place for in between
the intake and finding an available foster home for the dogs.
Our discounted rate has us paying $65
per week to board the dogs, which can add up quite quickly.
We almost always have a few dogs in the boarding kennel awaiting
foster care, and these costs have become a regular expense
for the rescue…
These are the dogs we have at the boarding
kennel today… If you are unable to foster, but want
to help – please consider becoming a Virtual Foster
Parent and sponsor one of these dogs!
Your donation of $65 would cover the
costs needed to pay for a week of boarding for one of these
dogs. This means, shelter, food, care and safety of one of
these dogs has been ensured for that week.
We can’t do it alone – and
we can’t do it without you! We have not turned our backs
on any dog from our local and surrounding area pounds and
we have never refused taking one of our own dogs back into
rescue. You can be a part of saving a life!
If you can not foster a dog, become
a virtual foster parent. Help by contributing towards the
costs of the food, shelter, care, and safety for just one
week!
