Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

Boxer Blend - Spayed Female - 3.5 years old (Born in July 21, 2008)
Height: 19-20" | Weight: 40lbs (approx.)

Vespa was rescued from an animal impound along with seven of her siblings and her parents back in the summer of 2008 as a wee pup. She wound up back in rescue when the family with young children found her to be too much for them. Vespa is a great girl who has been an overall easy dog to look after. When nothing is going on, she's a bit of a couch potato, and enjoys just hanging out with her foster mom. Vespa is very loyal and loving, and she is even a little protective. She is housebroken, crate trained and is extremely well mannered in the house. She also loves to go for walks and is fantastic when walking on leash (but doesn't like those passing by coming at her quickly - ie. joggers, bikers, etc.) She loves going walking or jogging, but is still trying to get the hang of the bike... She might be just a little uncertain about it. Vespa is a bit nervous about things like brooms, shovels, vacuum, hair dryer - she runs and hides when they are out. We are not sure where these reactions came from as she was only a puppy with no such fears when she left rescue... Vespa loves to chew bones and loves her toys. She is quite the companion dog and would be an excellent dog for a single person or couple as she is such a low key girl. She values her snuggle time just as much as she values her time out to play! Vespa travels very well and went on several long trips with her former foster dad - she actually would do well with someone that did lots of travelling. Vespa is sort of touch-and-go when it comes to other dogs. Some dogs she loves, and others she really doesn't - and there does not seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason. She does not like dogs that are bossy, overbearing or pushy. Bespa would be best as an only pet. She is prey driven, something not that unsual with the boxer breed, and she does try to catch cats, rodents, birds and other small critters. Vespa loves people and bonds quickly and closely with them. Even though she can be unsure about some things, she knows how to make her people feel loved, safe and secure. (Indoor Home Only!)
