Sweet Pea is a senior chihuahua who is looking for her one and only person! This little pip-squeak is an adorable little girl that has a very affectionate and loving side - for her one and only human. Sweet Pea is a very typical chihuahua, she ADORES her foster mom - but everyone else can take a hike as far as she is concerned! Sweet Pea is quite the little watch dog - she is not very keen on newcomers and is happiest with the people she knows and loves. Chihuahuas tend to be one person dogs and Sweet Pea is no exception. She is the most affectionate, loving, snuggly dog with her foster mom - and the sun rises and sets with her favorite person. She does accept her foster dad as part of the family, and will let him pick her up and interact with her too. She will even give him a little attitude when it comes to her person. Sweet Pea will growl and bark when strangers come into the house. She does settle if she is ignored and given time to come around. This little girl is overweight and does have a true love of food. This is one way to win her over, and she is always very happy when food enters the equation. Sweet Pea has a little dog bed which is her most favorite place to be - and she would live in a lap if she had the option. This is, however, not the best idea as Sweet Pea does get a little over confident when she is queen of the world - up in someone's arms. She is good with both cat and other dogs for the most part and is functioning well in a multi-pet home. She is not afraid to stick up for her self, and does not take kindly to other dogs or cats trying to take her food. Sweet Pea is going in for a spay and a dental through the rescue shortly. She appears to have had a few litters in the past (not recently, probably several years ago) and she does have very bowed back legs, which may mean she carried a little that was too big for her to handle. We plan to have her hind legs examined further while she is being spayed to ensure there are no problems that exist, as the bowing is significant. Sweet Pea is a very sweet little dog, but she would be happiest in a home without children - and would be best of a single person or a couple that has time to lavish her in love. (Indoor Home Only!)
