Starla is a very sweet old girl who ended up at the pound when she was found at large. She was never claimed by her owners, which is really very sad. Aside from being an older girl, Starla is completely blind. She seems to navigate quite well despite this, listening and finding her way around with her ears. Starla loves people and when she can follow a voice, her hope is that is will end in pats, snuggles and lots of love! Starla loves attention. She is fine with cats and other dogs - she doesn't acknowledge them for the most part... Starla must have been a breeding dog at one time, as she shows signs of having several litters of puppies in her past. Starla was diagnosed with Cushing Disease shortly after her arrival in rescue, but after going on medication her condition did a complete flip and she developed Addison's Disease. The treatment for Addisons is much less expensive, and Starla's condition was being managed with steroids. She is currently not on any medication, as her condition had stabilized, and she seems to be doing fine at this point. We will update her description as things change but as it stands, Starla is balanced without medication. She is a great girl and charms everyone she meets. She is actually quite the star in her foster mom's neighborhood - everyone who meets her is very taken by her. Starla has her own far club and she steals the hearts of everyone she meets. This gal is quite loving and always wants to be with her people. She is a wonderful old girl who is looking for a forever home where she can retire and enjoy her people... (Indoor Home Only.)
