 Spark was an unexpected addition that came into rescue after being discovered in a field near the garbage dump out by Swan Lake. She and her sisters sat in a farmer's field, while the field around them was being burned. These little girls were very lucky they were discovered by a kind citizen before they met a very unfortunate end. They were rescued through clouds of smoke and fire, and brought to safety in rescue. After asking around town, we learned these babes had been abandoned in the field about a week earlier, by someone who simply didn't want them anymore. These little girls have had a rough start - the field they were dumped in was next to a garbage dump, and the girls were surviving off garbage. As a result, their tummies have had some trouble adjusting to eating good food - so they have been eating a gastro formula. After a month or two on this diet, they should be able to switch to a normal dog food. After only a short time in rescue, Spark is already walking well on leash. She can be a little reserved when she meets new people, but it doesn't take her long to turn into the little cuddle monster she really is! Spark is catching onto things quickly - she is already learning a little about playing fetch, and she has been coming along with her housebreaking and basic commands. Spark is still just a puppy and she is still learning. This little girl is a wonderful pup and she is looking for her own forever home! (Indoor Home Only!)
IMPORTANT UPDATE: When the puppies arrived, they were examined by a veterinarian and determined to be around three months of age. After a month of getting healthy in rescue, the pups headed down for a booster shot and an examination. We were shocked to learn that these puppies were actually six months of age, not four as we had believed at this time. Because of their rough beginning and poor nutrition, the growth of these puppies was stunted and they will not be big dogs at all!
