Funds for Furry Friends was contacted by the RM office about this fellow - when his time ran up at the pound, no one wanted to see him put down. Preston is very friendly and outgoing with people, but he has a gentle approach. Despite being a large dog, Preston is shy when he first meets new dogs, hiding behind the legs of one of the rescue directors when he was first introduced to the small dogs in his foster home. It takes him a few minutes to warm up, but after he does, he's fine. While Preston is shy with new dogs, he does not overrreact. He is very fond of his crate, using it as a place to get away when he finds things overwhelming. Preston was introduced to a couple cats at the boarding kennel and showed no interest in cats at all! He has a nice temperment and is very friendly with people. He wags fiercely when he sees his foster mom and is very happy to meet people. Preston would be great in a home with teenagers and older children, but he would probably get overwhelmed around very young kids (under 12 years). Lots of activity and noice is a bit more than Preston would prefer in a forever home. Preston is a fantastic dog in the house - he has excellent house manners and is housebroken. Preston know a few basic commands, such as sit - but has not got a ton of background in formal obedience. As far as being polite and respectful - he's top notch! Preston likes to go for walks and is good on leash. He is excellent in the car and loves car rides - getting into an SUV seems to be a little challenge but he really enjoys going for a ride once he's in the car! Preston is new to rescue, so we don't have a ton of information on him yet! (Indoor
Home Only!)
