Special Initative Program: Save a Pound Cat

Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

SAVE A POUND CAT is a high impact feline spay/neuter program created by Funds for Furry Friends with a generous grant from PetSmart Charities®. 

This program provides families with a limited household income a FREE spay or neuter for cats or kittens adopted directly from the City of Brandon Pound.

Note: Regular City of Brandon fees still apply.  

Program definition of "Limited Income"

Maximum Income: $35,000 gross annual household income.  Add $10,000 for each dependent under 18 years of age. Adopters/applicants will be required to sign a declaration of this income level (no additional proof of income is required). 

Examples of household income:

Single or Dual Parent Family with 0 children: Maximum $35,000 gross annual household income
Single or Dual Parent Family with 1 child under 18: Maximum $45,000 gross annual household income
Single or Dual Parent Family with 2 children under 18: Maximum $55,000 gross annual household income
Single or Dual Parent Family with 3 children under 18: Maximum $65,000 gross annual household income
Single or Dual Parent Family with 4 children under 18: Maximum $75,000 gross annual household income
Single or Dual Parent Family with 5 children under 18: Maximum $85,000 gross annual household income

Directions the City of Brandon Pound:

Drive south on 18th Street, past the Shoppers Mall, movie theatre and bowling alley.  At the edge of Brandon, turn right/west on Patricia Avenue.  Drive 3 country miles, or through 3 country intersections. After the 3rd intersection, and you will see a sign for the Brandon Boarding Kennel.  Turn left into that property and you will see a sign on the door of a white building for the City of Brandon Pound.  

City of Brandon Pound Hours:

The Brandon City Pound is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 4:30pm, and Saturdays from 9:00am to 11:30am. Note that the Brandon City Pound is closed on Sundays and on Holidays.
