Those who ask what difference
does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of
the one who is saved!
During the 1st weekend of February every year, the Lt. Governor?s Winter Festival is well-known for serving up food and entertainment from all sorts of cultures, especially from the very popular Irish Pavilion (sponsored by Irish Society of Western Manitoba). 65-70 volunteers participate in the Irish Pavilion alone and they work at the Pavilion over a 3-day period. Surplus funds from food and beverage sales at the Irish Pavilion permit the Irish Society to donate $9,000-$10,000 each year over the last 6 years to regional non-profit organizations selected by its membership.
The Irish Society has 72 family members and has been in operation for over 20 years.
Seen in picture, John Arrell, Vice-President and Treasurer of Irish Society of Western Manitoba, presents $500 donation to Funds for Furry Friends Chief Financial Officer, D?Arcy Barker. 2010 is the second year that Funds for Furry Friends has received a donation from the Irish Society of Western Manitoba. These donations go directly to SNIP (Spay-Neuter Incentive Program).
