Special Needs Foster Home Needed ASAP!
Last Updated: October 15th, 2008
Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

One of our special needs dogs is in need of a new foster home. Cruiser is a very large young fellow with an outstanding personality. He is friendly, affectionate and playful. Cruiser is housebroken and crate trained. He's well mannered in the house and enjoys being outside too. This big fellow can occupy himself with a kong toy for hours and loves attention from his humans! Cruiser seems to be good with other dogs and he shows no interest in cats at the boarding kennel. Cruiser is extremely good off leash. He is a very strong boy and while he can walk well on leash, he does get excited around moving vehicles. He will bark and pull towards them, and being such a large fellow, he does need a strong handler at the end of the leash. To view Cruiser's page on the website, click here!

This is a special situtation as Cruiser has a medical condition which does require a feeding schedule which will make staying at the boarding kennel difficult for him, and we really want to get him into a foster home. Cruiser has megaesophagus which requires a special feeding process - he needs to eat with his front legs slightly elevated from the back ones, and he needs to maintain that position (or a higher tilt) for 10 minutes after eating. He only needs to be elevated about 6" up and he enjoys affection and loves to be "up" - so holding his paws in your lap and stroking his head for 10 minutes is a simple and easy way to manage this.

We are looking for an experienced foster home that would consider fostering Cruiser while he awaits his forever family. Anyone interested, please email fosterhomes@fundsfurfriends.com or call 204-573-8333 after 5:00pm - more information about Cruiser can be found below...
