Collie X Spaniel - Female - 12 year old (approx)
Height: 16-17" | Weight: 35lbs (approx)

Nanny is a very special sweet old girl who has recently come into rescue. She is a very soft natured, sweet old dog who is looking for a retirement home. Nanny is extremely gentle, and this senior girl has a lot of love to give. Nanny loves to be with people and can be very snuggly and affectionate. She is a beautiful dog with an amazing temperment. Nanny has two great loves in her life - cookies and car rides. Anyone who can offer her those things, and a big fluffy pillow to snooze on is a-ok in her books! This sweet girl has visited the veterinarian, and we have discovered she has very severe cataracts which severely disrupt her vision. As a result, Nanny does not see normally - but she does see shadows and gets around surprisingly well despite her inability to see. When Nanny is not sure about something, she is quick to stop and stand still. Generally this is the result of strange shadows and lighting in an unfamiliar environment, where she is not sure about where she is going. She is not blind and seems to recognize things within about a foot of her. Nanny also deaf and is does not respond to sound. Despite these signs of old age, Nanny is actually in generally good shape! She has great teeth and is an overall healthly girl. Nanny is very loving and once she bonds, she loves with very little effort. She is great with everyone - kids, cats and other dogs. Nanny does have very mild arthritis and is on glucosamine. This does not seem to impact her mobility much, but she does seem to have trouble with large numbers of stairs (and needs to be carried up and down.) She is clean, housebroken and a very easy girl to have around. Nanny is cautious and slow-moving in a new environment - but once she is familiar, she moves around really well! She also seems to be very confident when she is walking a beaten path so-to-speak. Nanny can really boogie when she gets walking on the sidewalk! This is one really special dog, and it is a real shame that anyone would leave a senior dog in the pound! She really is the sweetest thing, and she deserves a home to live out the remainer of her years. (Indoor Home Only.)
