Mira is one of the sweetest dogs that Funds for Furry Friends has ever had! After spending some time roughing it, Mira is pleased to have a bowl of food to call her dinner and a warm place to lay down to sleep. This older gal is a breeze to look after and she would be an easy fit into any home. Mira is a very laid back and content girl, who really loves spending time outside. We believe Mira was stray for quite some time before coming into rescue, and she came in needing a little TLC. While she spend time wandering, Mira has no desire to wander and is happy to hang out and just be with her people. When she first arrived, she was in bad shape - her coat was badly matted and she had been scavenging for food for quite some time. One would have believed that Mira was a stray her whole life if you had seen the condition she arrived in - but after a short time in a home environment, we learned Mira has obviously spent time as someone's pet. She is very well mannered indoors, she stays off the furniture and is happiest to hang out with her people and chew a bone. She is quite well mannered indoors and she is housebroken. We did have an issue with Mira having accidents in her sleep, and she is medication to address this problem. Mira is trustworthy left alone and can't be bothered to get into any trouble. This ol' girl is happy to literally lay in a sunbeam outside for hours, and she really does not ask for much. Mira is wonderful with kids, cats and other dogs. She is an extremely easy-going girl with a whole lot of love to give. (Indoor Home Only!)
UPDATE: Mira has been recently diagnosed with Cushings Disease and she is now on medication for her condition. She has just started on medication, mitotane, which costs $80 per month. Mira has started having occassional accidents in the house, which we hope will get sorted with her medication. We understand there are not a lot of people out there willing to take on a senior dog with an ongoing medical problems and expense, and are looking for a very special someone for this sweet girl.
Mira could end up living out her remaining time in rescue and any donations made for this very special girl will go directly towards the costs of her medical expenses.
