Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

Mikayla - Spayed Female - 2 years old (Born Jan 26, 2007)
Height: 22-23" | Weight: 60lbs

Mikayla is a beautiful 1.5 year old lab x collie who has been returned to rescue. Mikayla was adopted from Funds for Furry Friends at the age of 8 weeks (one of Honey's pups) and has spent her whole life in the same home. She was returned to rescue when her owners found two dogs to be too much for them. Mikayla had a rough start back in rescue, as she really had a hard time with the separation from her former family. Mikayla had a rough start when she returned to rescue - but once the adjustment period past, Mikayla has really come out of her shell. She is a different dog today - happy, social and very friendly. She was one a very nervous girl, but that is now a thing of the past. Through lots of exposure to new things, Mikayla has really opened up and she is happy to meet and greet new people! Mikayla does take lead from another dog and she would be best in a home with a dog that can lead by example. Mikayla is happiest alongside a dog that is confident and can be her "boss." She is an amazing dog and really learns well with a good doggie role model! Mikayla is an ideal dog for anyone looking for a dog past the puppy phase. She is completely housebroken, and well mannered indoors. She is also great off leash and does not stray far. Mikayla love to walk and has been best with a training collar on walks, due to her high energy levels. She needs her exercise, but Mikayla also knows how to relax and can be very calm and collected in the house. She has just come so far in rescue and we are so proud of her! Mikayla has stayed with babysitters and in the boarding kennel recently, and has shown she bonds well when she is with new people. She is very loyal to her people, and would really love a family to call her own. Mikayla has been in rescue quite some time, just learning and growing confidence. She is ready for her own forever home now, and we'd love to see this beautiful girl move along to her own forever family. (Indoor Home Only!)
