Maximus has come into rescue after a very hard decision was made by his owners to let him go. Maximus' family is moving away and his family did not feel that he would be able to handle the trip. It's not hard to see how hard of a decision it must have been to let this big boy go. He is a wonderful dog with a very sweet and gentle disposition. Maximus is a little shy and he was not fond of the camera - but we will try and get some better pictures of him when he settles in with his new foster family. This fellow is very sweet, soft and gentle. He was raised in a daycare environment and he is wonderful with children. Maximus is currently fostered in a home with small children, and he simply lights up when he sees them coming! Maximus is happiest when he can be around children and he really loves being part of the family. Maximus is incredibly well mannered and he is easy to handle on leash. He knows all the basics of obedience and is a pretty easy going fellow. Maximus is very low key and he spends a lot of time just hanging out. This senior dog does have some joint issues - his owners explained that he has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia. However, it is very minor and is being managed with glucosamine suppliments, Maximus does get a little stiff when he is laying down for an extended period of time - and this is part of the reason his owners felt that travel and a long flight would be tough on Maximus. He does seem to be in good shape otherwise, and is a sweet, gentle old guy. (Indoor Home Only.)
