Meet Lou! This little guy made such an impression on the folks at the rural pound he was staying at, the rescue got a special phone call about saving this guy. Lou's foster mom says he is a super sweet boy, the ultimate cuddle bug! He will snuggle in a lap any chance he gets and tucks his little head under his foster mom's chin, and curls up in the crook of her arm like a baby. He is kennel trained but is always excited when everyone is home and it's time to come out! He has been very tolerant and accepting of the other dogs in his foster home, but he is really much more interested in people than dogs. He will co-exist with them, but prefers they give him his space. Lou is picky about the kind of dogs he likes to have around. He LOVES his food and while he did get a little protective of his dish initially with the other dogs, this resolved itself quickly and he is completely comfortable now. While Lou likes to share his living quarters with quieter canines, he is fantastic at the dog park and is great with every dog he meets! He is excellent off leash and he loves to retrieve. Lou is completely housebroken and has excellent manners in the house. He does tend to get jumpy and excitable at times, and does not have a lot of self control when it comes to waiting for doors to open or waiting on his food, but most often he follows his foster mom around the house, lays at her feet and can always be found laying under the table at mealtimes. Lou is a great on leash, but he does pull a little bit when he's excited. He is easy to handle as he is not a very big dog. Lou has one little quirk - he can be a bit nervous with men he doesn't know, and will bark and act worried when they come into the house. He comes around quickly if he isn't paid much attention, and has time to come around on his own. All in all, Lou is a great little dog who would make a wonderful companion dog. (Indoor Home Only!)
