Lee originally came into rescue a victim of circumstance. When a temporary dog sitting situation became permanent, this lively little lady came into rescue. She came into rescue a very bright girl who knew how to sit, down and shake-a-paw. She was completely housebroken and well mannered indoors - but Lee had a lot of extra energy. She was adopted this past summer to a home where she received further training and was able to attend obedience classes. Lee is an extremely bright girl who learns new things with great ease. She is extremely food motivated and posed for her photos when she first arrived in rescue with a cookie for motivation! Lee needs a lot of work on leash - she pulls quite a bit and is not easily discouraged. She has been improving in her foster home but this is still an area that needs work. Lee is excellent off leash, and has great recall. Lee is good with cats but she does annoy them at times. Lee is great with other dogs and she really loves to play. She would be best suited to a home with another dog her size, and we would really prefer a home for Lee with an active and playful canine companion. Lee does need a lot of exercise and activity. She still really acts like a puppy, and we have found she does extremely well when she is given some direction and boundaries. Lee was adopted and returned to rescue, and she has done extremely well in our care. She just needed some guidance on what behaviors are acceptable and what behaviors are not. Lee is a great dog, but she is not a beginners dog - she does need a handler with some dog experience. As she continues to learn and mature, Lee will grown into the outstanding girl she is shaping up to be! (Indoor Home Only.)
