Kahlua (Pomeranian)
Description Last Updated: July 21st, 2010
Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

Pomeranian - Spayed Female - 3 years old (Born in 2007)
Height: 11-12" | Weight: 8lbs (approx.)

Kahlua is a new addition to Funds for Furry Friends. She was seized by the province from her owners along with a five other pomeranians for failure to provide adequate medical care and neglect. (Half of the dogs came to Funds for Furry Friends, and the other half went to the Brandon Humane Society.) Kahlua came into rescue with Kamora and Kona - and all three dogs needed some weight put on them and a little extra TLC before they were ready to be adopted. Kahlua was the only one who had a full belly - and it wasn't because she was getting all the food! We learned upon her arrival that Kahlua was pregnant, and May 17th, 2010 she gave birth to a litter of five bundles of joy! Kahula was a wonderful mom and her little ones are finally ready to move on to their own homes - and we really don't want to see mom left behind! Kahula is good with other dogs and cats. She prefers smaller dogs as playmates and loves to play with the Chihuahua in her foster home. Kahula will sleep in her kennel at night, but does prefer the door is left open. This girl was born to cuddle - she hates being pushed away and is very persistent. Kahula likes all people and is friendly with everyone! She walks very well on leash and is quite good off leash too - she comes promptly when called (even after she's snuck out of the fenced yard!) Kahula loves car rides and enjoys any extra time she gets to spend with her people. Kahula has the odd accident in the house but is coming along well with her housebreaking. She is much less "round" now that her puppies are born - he coat has also thinned significantly and she has a bald patch on her chest. Kahula is scheduled for a spay shortly and her coat should fill back in soon. Kahula is a wonderful dog - she is very easy to fall in love with! (Indoor Home Only.)
