Jaden is one cute little dude! He was surrendered to the pound when his owner found out just how much work a young beagle can be! Before you let this cutie steal your heart, please take some time to read up on this breed, because beagles are not for everyone. While Jaden exhibits most of his breed's traits, he does not have the traditional beagle obsession with food. Most beagles are inclined to follow their nose everywhere, but Jaden isn't really interested in following his. Jaden isn't a typical food driven hound. Jaden is quite an active little guy and he can be wound up easily. He adores other dogs and it really takes very little to convince him it's time to play. He has a great disposition where kids, cats and other dogs are concerned and he really just wants to be friends with everyone. He is not afraid to stick up if another dog tries to pick on him, but Jaden's overall attitude with everyone is this happy, merry beagle demeanor. He is such an easy guy to get along with in so many ways, and he is one cute little dog! Jaden has a lot of energy and loves to play and wrestle 80% of the time, but you do get to enjoy downtime with him, and he is quite the snuggly little guy when he wants to be. Jaden really does adore people and other animals, and he is such an affectionate dog. Jaden may not be the typical food driven hound, but he does have a few other hound traits. He can be a vocal fellow and will let you know when there is a car in the driveway or people approaching the door. He is coming along very well with his crate training, but does bark in his crate when he hears your key in the lock. Jaden needs a home where he will not be alone for more than 3-4 hours without a potty break, as he has a small bladder and can not wait much longer than that. His housebreaking does need work, and we find Jaden does fairly well when he is let out frequently. When he first arrived he has some major submissive peeing issues, but these have been resolved. Jaden also loves to chew, and he does get into things if there are not chews and toys available. He likes de-stuffed teddies, squeekies, nylabones, rope toys... He's not fussy! He does have a bit of a love of blankets and will chew the corners sometimes (best to keep an eye on him if he's on a comforter!) The truth is, Jaden is such a loving little guy and most of his little quirks are typical puppy behaviours. Beagles can live in that puppy stage a bit longer than other breeds, and can take longer to outgrow these behaviours. Jaden gets into a lot less trouble when he has an active canine buddy to keep his interest! This young boy is looking for someone who has a little patience and time to give him - and a whole lot of playtime too! (Indoor Home Only!)
