Hennessee came into rescue after she was surrendered to the pound. Her owners were unable to keep her as they were moving to a place that did not allow pets. She is a very sweet dog who is quite a quiet girl. Hennessee is housebroken and well mannered inside. She is good when crated but also does well loose in the house, and never gets into any trouble. Hennessee is fairly content to just relax and hang out. She is good with children and has been friendly with the other dogs. She does show a lot of interest in cats and while she does like to chase them, she has learned to leave them alone in her foster home. Hennessee was overweight when she first arrived in rescue but has lost a lot of weight since her arrival in rescue. She is great both on leash and off leash too! When Hennessee first arrived, we noticed when she stands still her one back leg does not touch the ground. A vet visit revealed that she has an old break that has healed on it's own this way - it does not bother Hennessee at all. She can run along with the other dogs in her foster home without any troubles at all. While Hennessee does like her exercise, she is really laid back and easy-going most of the time. She can sit on command, shake-a-paw and roll-over. While Hennessee is good with kids and other dogs, she would be ideal for a quieter home where she could be the center of attention. As we understand, this was the kind of home Hennessee came from and she does love to be in the center of everything. Hennessee loves food and does need her eating habits controlled to avoid problems with her weight. She is an easy girl to have around - laid back, well mannered and trustworthy in the house. Hennessee would love a home she could call her every own, and will be a nice low-maintenance dog for someone wanting a loyal companion. (Indoor Home Only!)
