Gromit has experienced a lot of change in his life, despite his young age. His first owners turned him over to a local pet store at a young age, and he was sold to a second home where he lived until his arrival in rescue. Gromit did not get a lot of real world experience in his former home, and came into rescue a very skittish and uncertain little boy. However, he has come quite far since his arrival in rescue - and has made many major improvements since he settled into his foster home! He is very playful and affectionate - and Gromit loves to snuggle. He likes to be picked up and carried - even though he is not a tiny dog. Gromit is learning things quickly in his foster home. He had no idea what a leash was when he arrived - but we are pleased to report he now LOVES to go for walks! He is not a dog that likes to be left alone outside - so his foster mom sometimes leaves the door open so he feels he can come and go. Gromit bonds quickly and closely and actually does fairly well off leash once he has bonded - he does not like to leave his foster mom's side. Gromit is still a bit of a shy dog, but he is becoming more and more self confident each day! Gromit is learning new things every day with his foster mom - he is working on basic commands and is trying to get the hang of that "fetch" game... He has really shown a strong desire to learn and do things, and Gromit is shaping into a wonderful dog! He is great with the other dog in his foster home! He was tested with cats when he first arrived in rescue and has shown very little interest in them... Over Easter weekend, Gromit spent some time with some school aged children - he was excellent with the girls (ages 8 and 11) that came to play. Gromit is good with children, but would not be ideal for a home with kids pre-school age or younger, just because he can be a shy guy. All in all, Gromit has really impressed everyone with how far he has come after only a short time in rescue. He continues to grow and gain confidence everyday! This little fellow is a great mix of playful and snuggly - he is looking for a forever home with a little patience and a whole lot of love to give! (Indoor Home Only!)
