Fido (Newfoundland X)
Description Last Updated: June 29th, 2009
Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

Newfoundland X - Neutered Male - 2 years old (Born in 2007)
Height: 23-24" | Weight: 84lbs (underweight)

Fido is a big giant snuggle bug who is looking for a new forever home after a brush with death. He was brought into the vet clinic with instructions to shoot him or stick a needle in him, or something. The vet clinic staff had no intention of following those instructions with such a sweet fellow! Fido was surrendered to the clinic for taking off on the farm he was living on - he is not good off leash. (They think he was running to play with the neighbor's dog!) Fido likes other dogs, but he is easily intimidated and has a very soft and gentle nature. He would be best suited to a home with another even tempered pooch, as he hides from even little dogs when they bark at him! Fido is fine with cats and he is a very gentle fellow. He adores children and is drawn to people. He loves everyone he meets and greets strangers with a very friendly hello! This fellow is only 84lbs right now, but should be 95-100lbs when he puts on some weight. He is quite skinny under that big coat. Fido is really a big marshmellow, who is happy to go along with whatever everyone else wants to do - he doesn't fuss too much about anything... Fido's only complaint would be travel - this big fella gets a little stressed during longer car rides. This is not something Fido has had a lot of experience with, but the more rides he goes on - the better he gets! This big fella is a real catch! He is very well mannered indoors, and does not even bother with the bunnies in his foster home! He is completely housebroken, and knows how to sit and down - and while he "forgets" sometimes, a cookie usually brings back his memory! Fido is a real special guy - he is a big dog, but he has the heart of a lamb. (Indoor Home Only!)
