PAST EVENTS

Travellers Day Parade - June 7th, 2008
COME WALK WITH US AND SUPPORT FUNDS FOR FURRY FRIENDS!

We'd like to thank all of those who made it out to this year's parade - we had a lot of dogs show up and it was a beautiful day for walking!

CAGED FOR CRITTERS

The first annual Caged for Critters event was held on May 24th, 2008 at the Home Depot Parking Lot in Brandon.
The event was nothing short of outstanding!

Several upstanding members of the community lent their support to the rescue and spent some time in a "cage" in support of animal rescue. A special thank-you goes out to Dave Burgess - Mayor of Brandon, Drew Caldwell - Brandon East MLA, Nathan Peto - Chamber of Commerce Manager, Amber VanDale - Star FM's "Morning Mess", Brian Mayes - Brandon Lawyer, Kent Smyth - MNP, Robson Fletcher - Brandon Sun's Editorial Page Editor, Dallas Massina - Contractor, Tyler Crayston - Sports News CKX TV, Jerry Hemming - former Bobcats Basketball Coach, Jay Thrush - Brandon Hills Veterinary Clinic, Chad Wallin - Montana's Restaurant, KC Bateman - Star FM and Sylvia Kukurudz - Registered Psychiatric Nurse for their support and participation in the event!

Our event was double-booked in the parking lot with the Brandon Firefighters College's carwash - and the boys came through in fine style! Many of the graduates from the Brandon Firefighters College came over and jumped in the cage in support of the rescue - and really offered us a huge hand in our fundraising. We want to take a moment to extend a very BIG thanks to the graduating class at the fire college - you guys are awesome!

MONTANA'S STEAKHOUSE "GARLAND OF HOPE" FUNDRAISER

Montana's Cookhouse held their "Garland of Hope" Fundraiser Event over the holidays. The business presented Funds for Furry Friends Pet Rescue with a cheque for $3000 at their Christmas Party on January 6th, 2006. The funds raised will greatly assist the rescue with the costs of spaying, neutering and boarding dogs in the new year!

THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL OF THE STAFF AT MONTANA'S COOKHOUSE!

PET PICTURES WITH SANTA!!

Our Second Annual Pet Pictures with Santa took place at the Shopper's Mall Annex - next door to PetValue on 18th Street. The pictures, which took place over November 24th and November 25th of 2007 had an AMAZING TURNOUT!!! We had a incredible array of cats, dogs, bunnies and even guinea pigs at this year's photo shoot!

SECOND ANNUAL FUN DOG DAY

Our second annual Fun Dog Day held at the Kinsmen Park on June 9th, 2007 was a HUGE SUCCESS!

The weather was wonderful and a great time was had by all who attended! Crowds gathered to sign up for fun dog classes, entering to see who had the dog could jump the highest or which pooch had the best pet trick! Dog classes ranged from the longest nose, to the best dressed and even the most macho mutt! Folks who attended were able to try out an agility course and see if their dog was super dog material... And activities for the whole family ranged from kids games and a biscuit guessing contest and even a candy toss! Of course, no day in the sun would be complete without hotdogs and cold drinks... All proceeds for this event went directly to the rescue and best of all - many of our rescue dogs attended with their foster families! The event was amazing and we want to extend a very big thank-you too all the Brandonites and the Winnipeg caravan which came out to support our furry friends!

We hope to see you all again next year!

Travellers Day Parade - June 10th 2006
Thanks to all who came out to our entry in the Travellers Day Parade and to Chris Hearn for the loan of her truck. All the dogs including the foster children were well behaved and had a good time. The children and some of the adults on the sides enjoyed petting all our pooches and seeing what nice additions a rescue dog can be to a family. It was great to see so many of you out to support us we had close to 30 dogs walking in the parade and hope to see even more of you out next year!

FUN DOG DAY - MAY 27th 2006 Kinsmen Stadium!!!
Our fun dog day was a lot of fun for all the people who came out and took part. Due to inclement weather it was probably not as well attended as we would have liked but hopefully next year people will spread the word about what a great time was had by those who came and more people will take part in the festivities.

Charity Bazarre at the Mall 2006

We were part of the Charity Bazarre held the last weekend in February 2006 at the Mall. We were mainly selling baking and books and made out quite well raising over $1000 in donations. We'd like to thank all our volunteers who came out to work the table for making this sale a large success!!!

COOP Hot Dog Sale Photo

This picture was taken at the hot dog sale at the Coop. Thank you to everyone who came out and volunteered or bought hot dogs for helping us with this fund raiser. The winner of the early bird raffle draw from the hot dog sale was Donna Epp. Thanks again everyone for your continued support.
