Eli is one of 7 puppies born in an unwanted litter born back in February. Over time, homes were found for six of the puppies, and in the end one puppy remained - Eli. As he was not going to be kept, very little was done with him. He has been trained to walk on a leash, but beyond this Eli has very little pet experience. Eli would wander off when he was left loose outdoors, and spent a lot of time tied to a dog house as a result. He is a little nervous about new places, but once he figures out that it's safe he warms up and gets comfortable. Eli is a very nice natured dog, he just does not have a lot of life experience and does need some training. Eli is a polite boy, he does not jump up or pull on leash. He isn't an overly active dog, and he is a bit unsure of himself at times. Eli is quite gentle and is not a skittish or overly nervous dog. He does put the brakes on when he is uncertain about things, and Eli does need a bit of a confidence boost. He is friendly with people and is great with older kids. We have not had Eli around younger kids but he is friendly and polite, and would likely be find with younger kids. We have found Eli is a little shy with new dogs, but he does like other dogs and warms up quickly. Eli needs a home without cats, as he is not good with cats. This young boy really hasn't had much of a start, but he has a very nice personality and with a little time and training he will make someone a lovely pet. Eli does ride well in the vehicle and likes to travel. (Indoor Home or Indoor/Outdoor Home Acceptable.)
