Carson is a sweet dog who came into rescue through no fault of his own. He was recently in rescue when his owners moved unexpectedly - Carson was adopted after only a short time and then returned to our care. Carson is a special little dog who bonds very closely with his people. He takes a little time to other dogs and he completely ignores cats. The pictures shown on this website were taken when Carson first arrived in rescue (prior to being adopted the first time.) He was adopted and returned after about five months with his coat in an extremely neglectful condition. Due to his state of discomfort, Carson had gotten a little bit touchy. Carson was great with people of all ages when he came into rescue initially, but as he has been a bit off since his return, we are recommending a home without children for him at this time. Carson is very treat motivated and he knows how to sit, down, speak and shake both paws. He loves to go for walks and is excellent in the car. Carson will let you know when someone is there but he isn't overly vocal. He loves to be with people and will follow you everywhere. Carson is quite the velcro dog. He does tend to get quite attached to his people. He is fine loose in the house and is completely crate trained. He's a nice little boy who really wants to be in the center of everything. He seems to have a little bit of that traditional "small dog syndrome" and he can be a bit possessive of laps and his favorite spot on the couch. He has bonded well with his foster mom and would be happy if it could be just the two of them, and no one else. Carson would be best with a single person or couple who have some experience with dogs.
