Blaze is a beautiful boy with a very elegant look. This striking young fellow may even have some hound mixed in his family tree. Blaze was left with a caregiver and never picked up - eventually ending up in the pound when he began to chase the livestock. This young guy is amazing with other dogs and is great with cats too - but livestock and birds are off limits for Blaze. He is a very sweet boy with a friendly and loving personality. He is very well trained, and Blaze knows how to sit, down and shake-a-paw on command. He is housebroken and well mannered indoors. His first owner has a lot of trouble with him jumping up, and while he still does this occassionally - Blaze's manners have improved drastically in that area. He is fairly easy to handle, and is good both on and off leash - providing that he does not have access to livestock, as his recall fails then. Blaze is an athletic dog that enjoys running and playing, but he also understand when it's time to calm down and relax. He is extremely underweight, which is something we do plan to have the vets check into a little further. Blaze seems to be in quite good shape otherwise. He is alert, very social and kind of goofy too. He loves to roll in the grass and is always game for a good belly rub. Blaze would probably be best suited to a home with at least school aged children, but he is friendly with children and adults alike. This tall and lanky fellow has a very unique look and a wonderful temperment too! (Indoor Home Only!)
