Those who ask what difference does it make saving just one have not witnessed the joy of the one who is saved!

Chesapeake Bay Retriever - Neutered Male - 13 years old (Born in 1996)
Height: 26-27" | Weight: 100lbs (aprox.)

Bear is a very special boy that is looking for a very special kind of home. This beautiful big fella has so many amazing qualities. Bear is a loving fellow who is great with people of all ages. He makes friends with everyone he meets easily, and Bear adores children. This big fella is wonderful with cats, and he is great with most other dogs as well. Bear does like to be the top dog, and he is not suitable for a home with a dominant or pushy dog. This big boy knows how to sit, down and even heels when he is walked on leash! Bear is so well mannered, even a child could walk him. This big fellow bonds quickly and closely with his humans, and becomes a shadow - with a strong need to always be close to his people. Bear is very loyal and very loving. Being bounced around a few times at an older age has taken it's toll on Bear. He has developed separation anxiety which makes him very difficult to leave alone. Bear would do very well in a situation where someone was around all the time. He would be an amazing pet for someone on the farm who wanted a dog to hang out and with them as they do the chores and follow a daily routine. This fellow thrives on routine. He would be best suited to a home where he was allowed to sleep in the house at night, as he would not do well being left alone - he will fight to get out or in, he needs to be where the people are. Bear is a 24/7 companion, and anyone who is home all the time or is able to take him to work, travelling or has a situation where he would not be left alone would be ideal. Bear would be a wonderful companion for anyone who is able to offer him constant companionship he needs. (Indoor Home or Outdoor Home Considered!)
