The Third Annual Caged for Critters Event - May 29th, 2010
THROUGH RAIN, SLEET AND HAIL... RESCUE VOLUNTEERS AND SUPPORTERS COME THROUGH!

This year's Caged for Critters event got off to a late start, when early morning thunder showers and heavy rains delayed the event's set-up. When the weather let up, the event went on as planned. While some weather was anticipated - both volunteers and attendees showed their true colors when neither rain, sleet or hail kept them from helping our furry friends! Mother nature decided to "spice up" the day with a bit of thunder and lighting, a couple flash floods, chilly winds and a sprinkle of rain every now and then - just to keep it interesting! Despite everything, the event this year was a real success - despite the weather, we were able to raise $10,242.36!

We would like to extend a great big thank-you to those who braved the weather for the day: Crystal Jaques-Munro, Shawn Munro, Chantal Russell, Joe Russell, Sandy Walter, Jill Geisbrecht, John Rice, Barb Rice, Meghan Lohr, Connie Reed, Cheryl Yeadon, Kelly Grove and Chris Ewasiuk. A big thanks to Teresa Truszynski who drove in from Winnipeg, Steph Palisier & Chris Pleasents (this year's mascot) who drove in from Portage, and Meredith Fryza & Chris Morcombe who drove out from Pierson - all to join us in this crazy weather!

We'd also like to say thanks to everyone who showed up to show their support by coming out to attend the event - it may have been a tough one this year, but the money raised will help us rescue many more cats and dogs in the future. Thanks so much for your support!
